Sommerau is a French commune in the Bas-Rhin department with 1,466 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2013).

It was created as Commune nouvelle by a decree of December 8, 2015 on January 1, 2016 through the merger of the communities Allenwiller , Birkenwald , Salenthal and Singrist .
