Saint-Rémi church

Neugartheim-Ittlenheim is a French commune in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ). On January 1, 2015, the municipality moved from the Arrondissement Strasbourg-Campagne to the Arrondissement Saverne . She is a member of the Communauté de communes du Kochersberg . The merger between Neugartheim and Ittlenheim (German Ittelnheim ) came into effect on January 1, 1973.

geography

The community with 799 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) is located in the Upper Rhine Plain , about 20 km northwest of Strasbourg .

The southwest neighboring municipality is Wintzenheim-Kochersberg . Between the two places is the Kochersberg , a 301 meter high elevation on which a castle stood between the 12th and 16th centuries.

Attractions

The construction of the Saint-Rémi church was completed in its current form in 1748, according to an inscription on the south portal. The decidedly simple building was completely renovated in 1994 and is a listed building.
