Strasbourg-Campagne arrondissement

The Arrondissement Strasbourg-Campagne was an administrative district in the Bas-Rhin in the region Alsace in France (2012 Balance at January 1) square kilometers with a population of 284,815 last over an area of 684th The administrative seat (French: chef-lieu ) of the arrondissement was Strasbourg .

history

On March 4, 1790 with the establishment of the Bas-Rhin department, the area belonged to the "Strasbourg District". With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the arrondissement of Strasbourg was created, which essentially replaced the district. Since May 18, 1871, the area belonged as the district of Strasbourg in the district of Lower Alsace to the realm of Alsace-Lorraine . At that time the district covered 561 km² and had (1885) 79,521 inhabitants. In the course of the reintegration of Alsace into France on June 28, 1919 ( Treaty of Versailles ), the area was redesigned as the Arrondissement Strasbourg-Campagne.

On January 1, 2015, the arrondissement was dissolved and the municipalities were divided into the arrondissements of Strasbourg , Haguenau-Wissembourg , Molsheim and Saverne .

The arrondissement bordered in the north on the arrondissement Haguenau , in the east on Germany with the Ortenaukreis ( Baden-Württemberg ) and, encircling this, the arrondissement Strasbourg-Ville , in the south on the arrondissement Sélestat-Erstein and in the west on the arrondissements Molsheim and Saverne .
