Vendenheim is a French commune with 5664 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ). The small town is located ten kilometers north of Strasbourg . The inhabitants call themselves "Fédinois".

Economy and Infrastructure

Vendenheim shares the Parc commercial Strasbourg Nord , a trading center , with Mundolsheim and Lampertheim . The Reichstett oil refinery is partially located in the district of Vendenheim.

traffic

Vendenheim is on the Paris – Strasbourg line and is also the starting point for the Vendenheim – Weissenburg line . However, not all trains on the latter route stop in Vendenheim. Vendenheim is also on the LGV Est européenne . High-speed trains pass through Vendenheim without stopping.
On the eastern side, Vendenheim is affected by the D263 department road. The Rhine-Marne Canal also runs there .

Sports

The women footballers of FC Vendenheim have given the community a certain prominence in France.
