Bossendorf

Bossendorf is a French commune with 399 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ). It belongs to the canton of Hochfelden and the municipal association Pays de la Zorn . On January 1st, 2015 Bossendorf moved from the arrondissement Strasbourg-Campagne to the arrondissement Saverne .

The Guntershusen settlement belongs partly to Bossendorf and partly to Schwindratzheim .

history

The origin of the place name is no longer known today. One suspects the old Germanic word "Boso" - that means "evil". The village is mentioned in a report from the military engineer Guillin von Neuf-Brisach from 1702.

Bossendorf was an imperial village .

During the French Revolution , Bossendorf was a village in the Bailliage de Haguenau , the Ballei around Haguenau .
