Rohr is a French commune with 311 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region ( Alsace until 2015 ). Pipe is a member of the community association Kochersberg . On January 1, 2015, the municipality moved from the Arrondissement Strasbourg-Campagne to the Arrondissement Saverne .
geography
Rohr is located in northeast France in the Kochersberg , 19 kilometers northwest of Strasbourg . Neighboring communities of Rohr are Duntzenheim in the north, Gougenheim in the northeast, Durningen in the southeast and Willgottheim in the southwest. The municipal area covers 334 hectares, the mean height is 207 meters above sea level , the Mairie stands at an altitude of 184 meters.
Rohr is assigned to a climate zone of type Cfb (according to Köppen and Geiger ): warm, moderate rainy climate (C), fully humid (f), warmest month below 22 ° C, at least four months above 10 ° C (b). There is a maritime climate with a moderate summer.
history
According to a local legend, Arbogast of Strasbourg created a local spring around 550. The area had become damp due to the spring and reeds sprouted, which gave the area its name.
In the course of the French Revolution (1789–1799) Rohr was officially a municipality in 1793 and in 1801 received the right to local self-government . In the Franco-Prussian War (1870–1871) it fell to Germany. Since 1919 it has belonged again to France during the course of the First World War (1914–1918). From February 1, 1973 to January 1, 1986 Rohr was part of the municipality of Gougenheim .

Attractions
The medieval church of Saint-Arbogast was replaced by the current church in the 18th century. The oldest part of the current Saint-Arbogast church is the tower, which was built in the 13th century. The tower's ground floor was roofed over in the 15th century. The oak construction that holds the bell bears the date 1699. It was renewed in the 18th century. The nave and choir date from the 18th century. The sacristy was built in the 19th century.

The municipal area are protected geographical indications (PGI) for poultry ( Volailles d'Alsace ) , Honey ( Miel d'Alsace ) , cream ( creme fraiche fluid d'Alsace ) and noodles ( Pâtes d'Alsace ) .
