Teodoro Oswaldo Fernández Meyzán (born May 20, 1913 in San Vicente de Cañete , † September 17, 1996 in Lima ) was a Peruvian football player .
Childhood and youth
Lolo spent his childhood with his mother Raymunda Meyzán and his father Tomás Fernández Cisneros. He was nominated for the national team of Peru and played for Universitario de Deportes for the first time at the age of 17 .
National team career
Lolo was the captain of the Peruvian national team . He took part in the Campeonato Sudamericano for Peru in 1935 , 1937 , 1939 , 1941 and 1942 . In 32 international matches for Peru, he scored 24 goals with which he was Peru's record scorer until June 11, 1978. He was then surpassed by Teófilo Cubillas , who scored his number 24 to 26 international goals in the World Cup match against Iran and is Peru's record scorer with them to date.
