history
- In the Merovingian period the place was first named as Tunchinasheim .
- During the Thirty Years War , the population was so decimated that the local authorities campaigned for immigration . Many new residents came from Bavaria .
- On the west side of the town there was an optical telegraph station between the relay stations on the Strasbourg cathedral tower and in Neugartheim between 1824 and 1852 , which enabled a rapid transmission of messages between Strasbourg and Paris at the time.
- Between 1968 and 1972 a new building area was developed and built in the style of Le Corbusier , which was the trigger for the population to triple within a few years.
