Val-de-Moder (2016 to 2019 Val de Moder ) is a French commune with 5,096 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Haguenau-Wissembourg and the canton of Reichshoffen .
history
The municipality was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2016 by merging the former municipalities Pfaffenhoffen , Uberach and La Walck , which have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative seat is in Pfaffenhofen. The town hall there has been a protected monument historique since 1935 .
With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipality of Ringeldorf was integrated , which is also given the status of a Commune déléguée . At the same time, the municipality name changes from Val de Moder to Val-de-Moder (spelling with a hyphen).

geography
The community is located around 13 kilometers west of Haguenau . The municipality is crossed by the river Moder and its tributary Rothbach .
Neighboring communities are: Bitschhoffen in the north, Haguenau in the northeast, Niedermodern in the east, Morschwiller in the southeast, Grassendorf in the south, Ettendorf in the southwest, Schalkendorf and Obermodern-Zutzendorf in the west and Kindwiller in the northwest.
