geography
The community lies between the Sauer and the Rhine on the border with Germany . The Départementsstraße D 87 crosses the Thein in Beinheim in the direction of Rastatt .

history
The place was called 745 Badanandovilla , 773 Bainenheim , 884 Beininheim and 1787 Neubeinheim . In its history it has been plagued by barbarians , lords of the castle and, during the Second World War, by the German occupying forces, when many houses caught fire as a result of the fighting.

- The bridge over the Rhine with riveted steel struts in neo-renaissance style . It was destroyed and rebuilt twice during World War II. However, the architectural style is not uniform over the entire length of the bridge, because when the nearby Iffezheim barrage was built in the 1970s on the German side, an additional strut framework construction made of steel was created over the new shipping canal. Originally a railway bridge, today it is also essential for border traffic with automobiles. However, trucks are not allowed to use this bridge. The border crossing of the Iffezheim barrage is planned for this purpose two kilometers south .
