Roquette Frères is a French family company that specializes in the processing of starch products after extraction from corn, potatoes, wheat or peas.

The head office is in Lestrem in the Pas-de-Calais department . Roquette manufactures and develops a wide range of preliminary and finished products for use in the food or animal feed, paper and pharmaceutical industries.

Roquette Frères is a public limited company owned by the Roquette family. The shares are not traded on the stock exchange.

Roquette operates in four locations in France:

  • Lestrem (headquarters, starch industry source: corn)
  • Beinheim (starch production from corn and wheat)
  • Vic-sur-Aisne (starch factory potato pancakes)
  • Vecquemont (starch factory potato pancakes)

The group has a total of twelve locations in North America, Asia and Europe. Roquette is the fourth largest starch company and global manufacturer of starch. The sugar substitutes sorbitol , mannitol and xylitol as well as maltodextrin are also produced. Another business area is the production of culture media for bioreactors .
