Kesseldorf is a French commune with 404 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ).

Before the Rhine was canalized, it branched into numerous tributaries and thus also caused damage. As a result, numerous settlements were built on sand islands in Lower Alsace .
