Bernolsheim is a French commune with 602 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ). On January 1, 2015, Bernolsheim moved from the Arrondissement Strasbourg-Campagne to the Arrondissement Haguenau-Wissembourg .
geography
Bernolsheim is located in the midst of agricultural land ten kilometers southwest of Haguenau and 20 kilometers north of Strasbourg . The community borders on Wahlenheim in the north and is surrounded by the communities of Rottelsheim in the east, Brumath in the southeast and Krautwiller in the south. Bernolsheim is one of the communities in the Zone naturelle sensible ("sensitive nature zone") of the Zorn Valley .

Culture and sights
Bernolsheim is represented with two flowers in the Conseil national des villes et villages fleuris (National Council of Flowered Cities and Villages).
The existence of a church in Bernolsheim has been documented since 1351. However, today's Saint-Pancrace, Saint-Sébastien church was built in 1762. The neo-baroque church tower was added in 1906. The church organ was built into the case of an organ from 1786 by the organ builder Joseph Rinckenbach in 1921 . Several objects in the church were classified as Monument historique in 1991 , including several statues: depicting John Nepomuk (or Charles Borromeo ), Joseph of Nazareth with Jesus , Francisco de Xavier and Ignatius of Loyola . A relief on the theme of Ecce homo from the 17th century was also classified as a monument historique.
There is also a small chapel built in 1876 and restored in 1913.
Transport links
In the south of the municipality, the A4 autoroute from Strasbourg to Metz crosses the D1340 département road to Haguenau . The nearest train station is in Brumath, just under three kilometers away . Strasbourg Airport is just 25 kilometers from Bernolsheim.
