Wingen is a French commune in the Bas-Rhin in the region Grand Est (2015 Alsace ). It is located in the Haguenau-Wissembourg arrondissement and in the canton of Reichshoffen .

The village is surrounded by forest, which covers over three quarters of the community area. Like the neighboring town of Climbach, it used to belong to the Hohenburg lordship . A little to the north is the district of Kleinwingen (French Petit Wingen or Alsatian Neudoerfel ). The area around Wingen is part of the Regional Park of the North Vosges , which together with the adjacent Palatinate Forest , a biosphere reserve of UNESCO forms.
