It belongs to the Arrondissement of Haguenau-Wissembourg and the Canton of Wissembourg . The residents call themselves Siegenois . They are also called the wolves , in the Alsatian dialect "Siegemer Woelf".

The municipality of Siegen is about ten kilometers southwest of Lauterbourg and five kilometers south of the Lauter , which marks the border with Rhineland-Palatinate .
