Ohlungen is a French commune with 1308 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the canton of Haguenau in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ).

geography

The place is located in the Upper Rhine Plain five kilometers west of Haguenau and 29 kilometers north of Strasbourg .

history

Ohlungen used to be an imperial village . The former Reichsweiler Keffendorf also belongs to the municipality . In November 1944, the German occupiers displaced around 10% of the village population in World War II .
