Donnenheim is a French commune with 349 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region ( Alsace until 2015 ). On January 1, 2015, the municipality moved from the Arrondissement Strasbourg-Campagne to the Arrondissement Haguenau-Wissembourg . Donnenheim belongs to the canton of Brumath .
geography
The municipality of Donnenheim is located five kilometers southwest of Brumath and about 20 kilometers north-northwest of Strasbourg not far from the point where the river Zorn enters the Rhine plain. In the northeast, the municipality extends over the Rhine-Marne Canal to the Zorn. The large-scale hop cultivation is characteristic of Donnenheim , while in the neighboring communities of Bilwisheim and Wingersheim, wine is grown. Neighboring communities of Donnenheim are Krautwiller in the north, Brumath in the north-east and east, Bilwisheim in the south, Mittelhausen in the south-west and Wingersheim in the west and north-west.
