Simon Abram (born April 3, 1871 in Wilten near Innsbruck , † February 29, 1940 in Salzburg ) was an Austrian politician of the Social Democratic Workers' Party of Austria (SDAP).

Life and work

Simon Abram was a trained wood turner . But he worked as an unskilled worker in a spinning mill, a health insurance company based in Innsbruck and as a self-employed businessman.

From 1892 he was a member of the Social Democratic Workers' Party of Austria, for which he also worked as an employee of the party organ "Innsbrucker Volkszeitung".

From 1902 to 1904 he was a member of the community committee of Wilten for his party. In 1907 he was elected to the Austrian Reichsrat . From October 21, 1918 to February 16, 1919 he was a member of the Provisional National Assembly and from March 4, 1919 to November 9, 1920 he was a member of the Constituent National Assembly . He was then from November 10, 1920 to February 17, 1934 a member of the National Council .

Outside of parliament, he was involved in the establishment and management of the national organization of the Republican Protection Association.

More functions

In other functions, he was a member of the supervisory board of Unionbrotfabrik Salzburg and a board member of the large purchasing company of Austrian consumer associations (GöC). He was also the founder of the Innsbrucker Spar- und Kreditkasse.
