Mary Willa "Mamie" Gummer (born August 3, 1983 in New York City ) is an American actress .

Life and accomplishments

Mamie Gummer is the eldest daughter of the actress Meryl Streep and the sculptor Don Gummer . She grew up in Los Angeles and Connecticut . She has two sisters, Louise and Grace , who is also an actress. Her older brother Henry is a musician and goes by the name Henry Wolfe .

Gummer made his debut opposite her mother and Jack Nicholson in the comedy Heartburn in 1986 . In the film drama Traces of a Life (2007) she played the role of Lila Wittenborn at a young age, who was embodied as an old woman by Streep. In 2008 the war drama Stop-Loss came out, in which Gummer starred alongside Ryan Phillippe .

Gummer won a Theater World Award in 2006 for her role in Noah Haidle's play Mr. Marmalade . In 2007 she was nominated for the Lucille Lortel Award for her role in Theresa Rebeck 's The Water's Edge . In 2011 she was in all episodes of the short-lived hospital series Off the Map as Dr. Mina Minard and in 2012 she took the title role in Emily Owens , another hospital series.

In 2009 she got engaged to actor Benjamin Walker , whom she married in 2011. On March 30, 2013, they announced their split. She has been engaged to the screenwriter Mehar Sethi since summer 2018; her son was born in 2019.
