Electoral process
The winners are selected by a committee of New York theater critics. Currently (2009) the committee consists of Peter Filichia ( Theatermania.com ), Harry Haun ( Playbill ), Matthew Murray ( TakinBroadway.com ), Frank Scheck ( New York Post ), Michael Sommers ( Newhouse Papers ), Doug Watt ( New York Daily News ) and Linda Winer ( New York Newsday ). The coordination is carried out by John Willis from TheatreWorld and Ben Hodges .
statuette
The prize consists of a bronze sculpture created by the artist Harry Marinsky . The sculpture is known as " Ianus ", a Roman god.
