Ryan Phillippe
Matthew Ryan Phillippe (born September 10, 1974 in New Castle , Delaware ) is an American actor and director.
Life
Phillippe is the son of the chemist Richard Phillippe and his wife Susan. He has three sisters.
His acting career began with the US soap opera Love, Lie, Passion , in which he appeared from 1992 to 1993. The character he portrayed Billy Douglas was the first gay in a daily soap, which caused a sensation nationwide. In the following years he had other appearances in television productions, so u. a. in the series Chicago Hope and Ein Mountie in Chicago .
He first appeared on the big screen in a mini-role in Tony Scott's submarine thriller Crimson Tide . He became known to the general public through films such as I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997), Studio 54 (1998), Ice Cold Angels (1999), Gosford Park (2001), Igby! (2002) and LA Crash (2004). More recently, he has starred in The Bang Bang Club (2010) from Steven Silver . He plays Greg Marinovich , a Pulitzer Prize- winning war photographer. On television he was in the fifth and final season of the drama series Damages - In the Net of Power to see in a leading role.
Phillippe was married to actress Reese Witherspoon since 1999 , with whom he has two children. They played together in Ice Cold Angels . The marriage was divorced on October 5, 2007. He has been dating the Australian actress Abbie Cornish since filming Stop-Loss . In late February 2010, the couple announced their separation. His third child, a daughter born in July 2011, comes from a brief relationship with Alexis Knapp . Phillippe got engaged to model Paulina Slagter in December 2015, and the couple has been separated since 2016. He owns a production company with Seth Green and Breckin Meyer .
