Sebastian Schnoy (born August 14, 1969 in Hamburg ) is a German cabaret artist , writer , keynote speaker and presenter .

biography

Sebastian Schnoy grew up in Hamburg and did his Abitur at the Lohmühlengymnasium. After his community service, he studied social and economic history, politics and psychology at the University of Hamburg , but did not graduate. In 1992 he lived in the Hungarian capital Budapest . From 1990 to 1997 he was guitarist and composer for the band The Roving Bottles . In 1997 he took his first steps on stages as a stand-up comedian , for example in the Schmidt Theater on the Reeperbahn and in the Quatsch Comedy Club . In 1998 his first solo program premiered at the Foolsgarden in Hamburg. Sebastian Schnoy has been writing non-fiction books and novels since 2006. Three of his non-fiction books were on the bestseller list of Spiegel Online .

Schnoy is married to a French woman, has two children and lives with his family in Hamburg.

Sebastian Schnoy has been represented in Germany with cabaret programs since 1998. With his programs, in which he humorously illuminates politics in connection with history, he is on tour in Germany and Switzerland. He played in the Berlin theater Die Wühlmäuse , in the academixer in Leipzig , in the Theater Fauteuil in Basel as well as in Alma Hoppe's Lustspielhaus and in Schmidt's Tivoli in Hamburg.

3sat broadcast its solo program in 1999. Sebastian Schnoy was several times a guest at the NDR Talk Show at Cabaret from Franconia in BR and the SR - social evening . He played twice for the Quatsch Comedy Club on PRO 7 . This was followed by short appearances on SWR in the program Friends in der Mäulesmühle , the WDR program Mitternachtsspitzen , Mann auf Bord and appearances as a talk guest in the show Markus Lanz on ZDF , Tietjen and Hirschhausen on NDR, as well as the shows special economy and cabaret on Ash Wednesday in Bavarian Television .

Moderator

Sebastian Schnoy, together with cabaret artist Kerim Pamuk , organized and hosted the Catbird Comedy Show at Hamburg's Imperial Theater from 2000 to 2006 . In 2002 he was the initiator of the annual “Hamburg Comedy Cup”, where he also acts as a presenter. To this day, Schnoy regularly moderates the Quatsch Comedy Club in Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Stuttgart . At the G20 summit in Hamburg 2017, he organized and moderated the G20 counter-dinner of art in Alma Hoppe's comedy house.

Keynote speaker

Sebastian Schnoy works as a keynote speaker for companies and institutions, as well as on a voluntary basis for the refugee aid association borderline-europe and the outpatient hospice KinderpaCT Hamburg.

author

In 2006 the Berlin Satyr Verlag published Schnoy's novel debut Rampenfieber . In 2009 the book was published Smörrebröd in Napoli - an enjoyable journey through Europe during Rowohlt Verlag and was 14 weeks on the bestseller list of Spiegel Online . In August 2010, his book Heimat is what man misses was published and was on the Spiegel bestseller list for paperbacks for three weeks. His fourth novel was published by Rowohlt Verlag in August 2011 under the title Let's stay enemies . His book Learning from Napoleon, How to Avoid Washing the Dish, was number 12 on the Spiegel bestseller list.
