The Theater Fauteuil is a small theater in Basel .

The theater has been run by the family of Swiss cabaret artist Alfred Rasser am Spalenberg since 1957 . In addition to the actual armchair, it consists of the Tabourettli, which opened in 1971, on the first floor and the Kaisersaal, which opened in 1989, on the second floor of the same building.

The armchair is a cellar theater with a peep-box stage and fixed row seating. It has space for 225 spectators. The Tabourettli, rebuilt in 1989, is the only work by the architect Santiago Calatrava in Basel. The Tabourettli can accommodate a maximum of 155 visitors.
