Lennart Schilgen
Lennart Schilgen (born October 13, 1988 in Berlin-Zehlendorf ) is a German songwriter , singer-songwriter and cabaret artist .
Career
Lennart Schilgen received classical piano lessons and learned to play the guitar as an autodidact . In 2011 he was a participant in the Celle School and from 2012 appeared as a solo artist. From 2013 he belonged to the Mainz Academy for Music and Poetry (Sago). During his school days he founded the band “Tonträger” with Johannes Wolff, Jonathan Richter and Daniel Bombei, for which he was the main lyricist and composer and with whom he played concerts all over Germany from 2014 onwards. In 2015 his first solo program "Angel's Tongue Breaker" premiered in the Berlin Zebrano Theater . In 2019, the program "Verklärungsbedarf: Lieder vom Schwarzmalen & Schönfärben" followed with a premiere in the bar of every reason . In the same year at Lieder auf Banz he was awarded the Hanns Seidel Foundation's sponsorship award and received a jury award from the Prix Pantheon .
style
Lennart Schilgen accompanies his singing with guitar and piano . His music is described as "at first sight calm, peaceful and harmonious", which then shows absurdities and twists and turns. Examples are when the shouter from the black metal band suddenly sings falsetto or the great love fails because of lost chewing gum paper. A supposed love song teaches the creeps through "bitter twists [...]." In addition to self-written songs, his repertoire also includes parodies and satirises. The song I wanted to sing like Orpheus, based on I wanted to sing like Elvis, is no longer allowed to perform since a letter from Reinhard Mey's lawyer. It had to be deleted from video portals. As an alternative, Schilgen wrote a Reinhard Mey parody.
