Zebrano Theater

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Zebrano Theater is a small theater in Berlin-Friedrichshain , near the Berlin Ostkreuz train station on Lenbachstrasse, which was founded in 2005.

history

In 2005, two actors from Berlin, Hans-Kaspar Aebli and Sebastian Krämer , took over the rooms of an earlier puppet theater that had just become vacant and showed a wide range of cabaret there with very little financial effort . After a financial failure could just be averted later, several artists founded the non-profit association Zebrano-Theater and now run the theater with a maximum of 70 seats. The facility got its name from the zebrano bar located here, where zebrano is a suitcase word made up of zebra and piano . In the meantime (as of the end of 2019) the bar has moved to a different operator and its name. As a result, the original theater entrance had to be relocated from Sonntagstrasse to Lenbachstrasse.

program

The program is geared towards literary and musical cabaret. The main part are guest performances. Usually there are several evening events per week. These include the series:

  • Club Genie und Wahnsinn , moderated by Sebastian Krämer
  • The Tuesday prophets , Sebastian Krämer, Martin Betz , Georg Weisfeld and Bernhard Lassahn : Combination of short text readings, poetry and music
  • Flavor enhancer - song nature in a tetrapak , authors and songwriters read and make music alternately and together

There is also a children's program, including a puppet show.

business

The theater is run by the Zebrano-Theater e. V. , which guarantees the financing through event revenues, donations and membership fees. The logo consists of black and white stripes on a piano keyboard , underlined with a zebra tail .

A barrier-free entrance can be opened after prior registration .
