Songs on the ball

The songs on Banz are a two-day songwriting festival in Bad Staffelstein , which takes place annually on two days in front of the backdrop of Banz Monastery . The festival takes place in a similar form as a follow-up event to the songs on a summer evening and is recorded by BR television and broadcast in a summary.

As with the songs on a summer evening, the Hanns Seidel Foundation awards a sponsorship prize for young songwriters as part of the event. The winners appear as part of the songs on Banz.

2017

The festival was shown for the first time on July 7th and 8th, 2017. Participating artists were: Konstantin Wecker , Willy Astor , Werner Schmidbauer , Purple Schulz , Helen Schneider , Sebastian Krumbiegel , Gert Steinbäcker , Stefan Jürgens , Fee Badenius and others. The festival was moderated by the a cappella band Viva Voce .

2018

The event took place again on July 6 and 7, 2018. Again Viva Voce were the moderators. Other participants were Rainhard Fendrich , Konstantin Wecker, Andreas Kümmert , Bodo Wartke , Pippo Pollina , Michael Fitz , Anna Depenbusch , Ami Warning, Miss Allie and Herbstbrüder.

2019

Also on July 6th and 7th, 2019, Viva Voce took over the moderation. Other participants included Hannes Ringlstetter , Christin Henkel , Hans Well & die Wellbappn, Lennart Schilgen , Roger Stein , Belle Fin, Wolfgang Ambros with Günter Dzikowski and Roland Vogel, Julia Neigel & Dieter "Maschine" Birr , Wolfgang Niedecken , Pippo Pollina , Martin Kälberer and Werner Schmidbauer .

2020

The songwriter festival is planned for July 3rd and 4th, 2020, with Bodo Wartke as moderator . Chris de Burgh , Annett Louisan , Haindling , Sarah Straub , Kellerkommando and Die Feisten will play as musicians . The line-up will be supplemented by the winners of this year's award for young songwriters from the Hanns Seidel Foundation .
