Troubadour (music competition)

The Troubadour German Song Contest (until 2009 Stuttgart Chanson & Lied Competition , until 2015 Troubadour Chanson & Lied Competition ) takes place annually in October in cooperation with the State University for Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart and under the sponsorship of Stephan Sulke at Le Méridien Stuttgart .

Support is given to musicians and songwriters from the genre of German songs and chansons . Over two evenings, a renowned jury will select the most talented from 16 selected participants for the final on the third evening. The troubadour winner goes to the winner and is endowed with 5,000 euros. The runner-up will receive 2,500 euros and the third place winner will receive 1,500 euros. In addition, the jury will award sponsorship prizes from 500 to 2,000 euros in the young talent category. On each of the two major competition evenings, the audience will award an audience award worth 500 euros.
