Bastian Bielendorfer (born May 24, 1984 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German author and comedian .

Life

Bielendorfer grew up in Gelsenkirchen as the son of a teacher couple. He has an older half-brother and attended Grillo-Gymnasium. After graduating from high school, he first studied German and psychology with the option to become a teacher at the University of Dortmund , then moved to the University of Osnabrück in 2007 and graduated in 2016 with a degree in psychology. Bielendorfer is married and lives in Cologne.

In October 2010, Bielendorfer was a candidate for the quiz show Who Wants to be a Millionaire? , in which he used his father as a telephone joker and won 32,000 euros. The father was confused that his son had already called him when he answered the 8,000 euro question, so that after giving the correct answer he hung up without a greeting. Bielendorfer then told the perplexed moderator Günther Jauch that he was leading a very bizarre life as a teacher's child and would like to write a book about it.

After the program had been broadcast, Piper Verlag contacted Bielendorfer, who published his work Lehrerkind - Lifelong Pausenhof in October 2011, which from then on ranked in the bestseller lists and was the best-selling soft paperback of 2012. From November 2012 to March 2014 Bielendorfer was a team member in the Harald Schmidt Show on Sky . Bielendorfer acts as an outside reporter for the VOX show Die Tierischen 10 with Jochen Schropp and Martin Rütter . With Reinhard Remfort he moderated Die Zerleger at the knowledge magazine WISO on ZDF . Bielendorfer has been publishing a weekly radio comedy entitled 1Live Hacks on the radio station 1 Live since October 2017 . Since August 2018 he has been publishing the podcast Alliteration Am Arsch together with Reinhard Remfort . Since October 2018 he can be seen as a co-presenter alongside Elton on the TV show All against One . On October 1, 2019, Bastian Bielendorfer started the podcast Bratwurst und Baklava on 1Live together with Özcan Coşar . In December 2019, Bielendorfer hosted three episodes of the Bielendorfer show on WDR with guests Ralf Schmitz , Torsten Sträter and Bettina Böttinger . He has been an integral part of the second season of Hotel Verschmitzt since 2020 .
