Bettina Maria Böttinger (born July 4, 1956 in Düsseldorf ) is a German television presenter and producer.

Bettina Böttinger is the daughter of a secretary and a film clerk. She grew up as an only child with her mother, attended elementary school on Gerresheimer Strasse in Düsseldorf, a " dwarf school " in Bergisches Land , and the Düsseldorf Goethe-Gymnasium. After graduating from high school in 1975, she studied German and history at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn with the professional goal of becoming a teacher. During her studies she worked for the Bonner Rundschau (local and feature pages ). After her first state examination, she worked for this regional newspaper for a year because she wanted to become a journalist .

In the spring of 1985 Böttinger came to WDR . She worked for the current hour and the Bonn regional office, from which she was taken over as editor in November 1985 . From 1986 she moderated the radio magazine Zwischen Rhein und Weser and from 1986 to 1991 the WDR Folk Festival. In 1987 she moved to the Dortmund regional studio as editor of the radio program Echo West . From 1988 onwards, she regularly performed the television program Here and Today , which deals with topics from North Rhine-Westphalia . In 1989 she rose to head of the WDR regional office in Bonn and in July 1991 to head of the editorial group here and today (until May 1993).

From December 1991 she presented the media show Parlazzo. In 2001 she produced and hosted the four-part talk series Das Schwarze Schaf for the WDR summer program . In June 2004 the last episode of B. meets ... was broadcast. From 2004 to 2005 she presented the talk show format Böttinger , which she produced herself, and since March 2006 (initially together with Achim Winter ) the Kölner Treff . Since January 2007 she has been leading the talk show West ART Talk alternately with Holger Noltze . In 2013 and 2014 she led the series B. sucht on WDR television . In 1997 and from 2005 to 2007 she presented the awarding of the Grimme Prize in Marl and from 2002 to 2005 the awarding of the German Camera Prize in Cologne. Private life and social engagement

She is committed u. a. for AIDS help , since 1996 for the lobby for girls in Cologne , for burundikids and since 1994 for the women's rights organization " medica mondiale ". Since 2002 she has traveled several times to Afghanistan for this association that cares for traumatized women and girls in war zones .

Böttinger ran a marathon , acquired the C license for Formula 3 in 1999 and was an ambassador for the Gay Games 2010 in Cologne . She lives in Kirchheim in the Eifel and in Cologne. In July 2016 , she married her long-time partner.
