Torsten Sträter
Torsten Sträter (* 4. September 1966 in Dortmund-Eving ) is a German horror - and comedy - writer , slam poet , comedian and cabaret artist .
Life
Sträter completed an apprenticeship as a men's tailor and also worked in this profession. He then worked for a freight forwarding company and as a mobile phone seller for twelve years . During this time he lived u. a. in the Dortmund district of Marten . Later he began to present his short stories very successfully at poetry slams throughout the German-speaking region. In addition to numerous regional championships in 2009, 2010 and 2012, he won the state competition NRW Slam . Sträter wrote for the satirical magazine Pardon and humorous columns for the kicker . There are only short stories in his books . It occurs regularly at nuhr in the first and extra 3 .
Sträter's trademark is a beanie hat . The fact that he wears them to almost all appearances has a purely practical origin: He needed something to catch the sweat that trickles from his forehead under the headlights. And he could "put on a headband like Björn Borg ".
According to his own account, Torsten Sträter suffered from a depressive illness in the nineties , which he also discussed in cabaret. In January 2018 he became patron of the Deutsche DepressionsLiga eV (DDL).
Since 2013 he has been running the podcast Sträter Bender Streberg - The Podcast with Hennes Bender and Gerry Streberg .
Sträter lives in Waltrop on the outskirts of the Ruhr area and has one son.
Torsten Sträter will be on tour with his program It's never too late to be unpunctual until autumn 2019 . Since then, his stage program has been Snow Falling on Ceran .
