Christine Prayon (born May 22, 1974 in Bonn ) is a German actress and cabaret artist .

Life

Christine Prayon's ancestors come from the Belgian Ardennes . She herself grew up in a conservative Catholic family: her grandfather was a general in the Belgian army, her father a colonel in the armed forces . She attended schools in Bonn and Waldbröl . After graduating from high school, she first studied German and Romance studies in Cologne from 1994 , before completing an acting training at the August Everding Theater Academy in Munich from 1996 to 2000 . In 1996 she also made her television debut with a small role in a daily soap .

After that she was engaged at various German theaters and participated in various television productions, e.g. B. 2002 in the 8th season of the bull from Tölz . Prayon had roles at the Schwäbisch Hall Open Air Theater and the Neersen Castle Festival and was a member of the ensemble at the Baden-Baden Theater from 2002 to 2004 . From 2004 to 2008 she was a member of the ensemble of the Renitenztheater in Stuttgart .

Together with Eva Eiselt , Prayon performed as Top Sigrid from 2005 to 2008 . They toured German-speaking countries with the stage program “We make everything” and in 2006 they won both the main prize and the audience prize at the Stuttgart Besen cabaret competition as part of the Stuttgart Cabaret Festival. In the same year, the duo was also awarded the Baden-Württemberg Cabaret Prize. In 2009 she founded the cabaret duo Bleckonweit with actress Sarah Masuch . In addition, since 2008, alongside Helge Thun , Jakob Nacken and Udo Zepezauer, she has been the occasional host of the “Comedy Stube” series of events in the Tübingen brewery .

In January 2010 Prayon premiered her first solo program "Die Diplom-Animatöse" at the Theaterhaus Stuttgart . In the same year, after she had already won the Dortmund Cabaret & Comedy PoKCal , she took second place in the competition for the Passau executioner's ax .

Since 7 October 2011, she acts as Birte Schneider in today-show of ZDF with. Before that, she had given satirical speeches at rallies during the protests against Stuttgart 21 . a. the then state minister Tanja Gönner satirized , whereby an editor of the show became aware of her. On March 26, 2013 Prayon had an appearance in the cabaret show Neues aus der Anstalt and on May 26, 2015, as well as on May 24, 2016 and October 23, 2018 in the follow-up program Die Anstalt . In July 2013, Christine Prayon ruled out that she would appear in the program Satire Gipfel by ARD star Dieter Nuhr . Starting in 2013, Prayon also had other television appearances in Christian Ehring's comedy series Extra3  , as well as a debut in Pufpaff's Happy Hour (on November 11, 2018).

At the award ceremony of the Dieter Hildebrandt Prize on May 14, 2019 in Munich, Prayon criticized the city's departure from the LiMux project in her acceptance speech and donated the prize money of 10,000 euros to the Free Software Foundation Europe , which the local media present did not report in unison .

On October 19, 2019, the premiere of Prayon's second solo program "Farewell Tour" took place in the Renitenztheater in Stuttgart . On the occasion of a preview of “Farewell Tour” in Kiel on October 12th, the Kieler Nachrichten headlined “Great cabaret” and named Prayon “one of the best cabaret artists in the country”.

Private life

Prayon lives in Stuttgart and has a son.
