Krissie Illing
Krissie Illing (actually Christine Elisabeth Illing ; born December 8, 1956 in Beckenham , London Borough of Bromley ) is a British dancer , actress , entertainer , comedian and clown ; occasionally she also appears as a ventriloquist .
Life
As a child she was already enthusiastic about ballet . She studied dance in London at the Royal Academy of Dance and at The Dance Center in Covent Garden . After performances with Patti Webb in London nightclubs , she moved in 1982 to Paris , the art of mime with Etienne Decroux study. Back in London, she met Mark Britton in 1984 , went on a world tour with him and to German stages.
Today Krissie Illing lives with her husband, Chris Adams, who performed as a juggler , in Vaour , France, not far from Toulouse . You have two children.
Act
With Mark Britton she founded the successful comedy duo Nickelodeon in 1984 , in which Illing excels as "Wilma" and Britton as "William" . These characters made her world famous; they have appeared at festivals in Hong Kong , Tokyo , Nagasaki , Montreal , Vancouver , New York , Amsterdam , Barcelona , Dublin , Edinburgh and London, among others.
In 1985, they received the Street Entertainers of the Year award in Covent Garden, sponsored by Time Out magazine and Village Voice . A film about the festival was broadcast on Channel 4 in the UK . This was followed by a tour of the New York clubs and an appearance in Times Square . In 1986, her first full-length stage program, Did you see that? at the Edinburgh Festival with the "Critics' Choice" award.
Her programs "Dinner for Two" (1990) and "Great Lovers in History" (1991) have been played hundreds of times in Germany (e.g. in the tipi at the Chancellery ). In addition, all of Nickelodeon's theater productions in Germany were televised.
In 1999 Krissie Illing had her first solo appearance in a variety program at GOP Varieté Essen . Her one-person play "Wilma's wonderful laundry" premiered in Vaour at the La Commanderie theater . The play ran for a long time in France, Germany and Switzerland and was also performed in the ufaFabrik in Berlin . She not only appeared on television in Germany (e.g. " Horst pass auf ", " Lachen mit Lars ", Kurt Krömer Show and " Immer wieder sonntags "), but also in Switzerland (" Comedy im Casino " and " Arosa Humor Festival "broadcast on DRS ). In 2005 she was the star guest in the birthday gala for Dieter Hallervorden " At 70 you still have dreams! " On ARD and in Arte 's New Year's Eve gala .
The Berlin Prize , which was awarded for the first time in 2003, was also given to Krissie Illing by Dieter Hallervorden at the great cabaret festival of the cabaret theater Die Wühlmäuse . In 2004 her second full-length solo show "Wilma's Jubilee" followed . She also formed the duo " Wilde Weiber " with Astrid Gloria (then "Hertha Schwätzig") . The two went on tour together several times between 2002 and 2008 and played the "Comedy Ladies Night" together .
In the period from 2006 to 2008, Krissie Illing gave guest appearances for several months at the American Teatro ZinZanni in both San Francisco and Seattle . Since 2009 she has been touring regularly with Gerburg Jahnke . As part of the program "Gerburg Jahnke invites ... let's see who's coming" , Krissie Illing had a guest appearance at the Ruhr Festival 2010 in Recklinghausen . Also in 2010 she received an award in France: at the "Festival d'humour de de café théâtre" in Rocquencourt she won the audience award.
Since 2005 she has been back on stage as "Wilma" in the Nickelodeon duo with Mark Britton, both with an updated version of Great Lovers in History and with Christmas Dinner for Two, her Christmas program, e.g. B. in the mustard pot in Cologne . From 2012 their new piece "Costa del Love" will run together (e.g. in the Fliegende Bauten Hamburg or in the Düsseldorfer Kom (m) ödchen ).
Krissie Illing gained particular fame as an impersonator of Queen Elizabeth II ; in this role she was seen in the special edition of children's programs 1, 2 or 3 on ZDFtivi on the occasion of the 2012 Olympic Games in London. She combines her bizarre parody with different dance styles, with the Queen mutating into a “go-go girl”.
