Tipi at the Chancellery
The Tipi at the Chancellery is a theater in Berlin-Tiergarten in which chansons, cabarets, concerts, musicals and variety shows are presented. The theater room, which is lined with blue, has up to 550 seats, almost all of which are fixed table places where you can also eat. It is the largest stationary tent stage in Europe and is located in the Tiergarten between the Federal Chancellery and the House of World Cultures . It was founded in 2002 as the jubilee tent for the tenth birthday of the bar of every reason . The name refers to the tent shape of the tipi .
The program
The performances focus on chansons, musicals and music comedy as well as international show acts and concerts. The program varies and is designed by both well-known and young, largely unknown artists, by soloists as well as groups. Georgette Dee and Tim Fischer , Dominique Horwitz and Gayle Tufts , Gitte Haenning and Rainald Grebe played in the tipi at the Chancellery . The Russian Circus Semianyki, the German-Dutch entertainer Sven Ratzke , the Italian athletes from Rhythmix, the Australian TomTomCrew, the Israeli dancers and musicians from Sheketak and the Venetian quick-change artist Ennio Marchetto were seen on this stage for the first time in Germany. The actors Andrea Sawatzki and Ulrich Tukur showed their passion for musical groove in the tipi. Since 2010, the musical production “Cabaret” (staged by Vincent Paterson) from the bar of every reason has been a regular guest here.
history
The tipi at the Chancellery was opened on June 8th, 2002 with a large revue broadcast live on 3sat. With this revue and its first programs, the gray and white tent celebrated the ten-year anniversary of the Berlin bar of all reason. Alfred Biolek and Gayle Tufts led through the evening, Meret Becker, Otto Sander, Brigitte Mira, the Pfister siblings, Maren Kroymann, among others, sang and played on stage. The founder and director is Holger Klotzbach , the co-founder Lutz Deisinger is responsible for the artistic direction.
The larger tent with a ceiling height of up to eight meters made it possible for the non-subsidized theater operation to offer artists who have outgrown the bar a larger venue with technical equipment that is also appropriate for more elaborate shows. Malediva , Tim Fischer , Ades Zabel , Dominique Horwitz , Maren Kroymann , Pigor & Eichhorn and the Pfister siblings are recurring artists.
