GOP variety food
The GOP Varieté Essen is a variety theater in Essen . As an offshoot of the “ Georgspalast (GOP)” variety show in Hanover , it was opened in October 1996 in the former UFA cinema “Grand Filmpalast” in Essen.
In summer 2001 the variety theater was redesigned. The designer Horst Böhner was inspired by the New York restaurant bar “Le Cirque”. Large chandeliers, artfully draped cloths and many British antiques create a playful ambience. Six figures from the triadic ballet by Bauhaus artist Oskar Schlemmer line the side walls.
Acrobats, magicians, ventriloquists, singers and many other artists entertain the audience through their performances. The program changes monthly. A total of 360 people can be seated at 4, 6 and 8-person tables.
In addition to the headquarters in Hanover and the Essen branch, there are now GOP variety shows in Bad Oeynhausen , Münster , Munich , Bremen and Bonn .
