In My Mind is an album of hip-hop - musician Pharrell Williams . It was released in July 2006 and was the rapper's first solo album that he produced himself.

Emergence

The album's originally planned release date in January 2006 was postponed by six months, as Williams was of the opinion that the album still needed some finishing touches. In My Mind came under the nominees of the Grammys , but was awarded the album Release Therapy by Ludacris on which Williams also with the also grammyprämierten title Moneymaker participated. Between 2006 and 2007 The Roots drummer Questlove remixed the album with Williams.

Description of the title

Can I Have It Like That: The first single from the album is accompanied by Gwen Stefani . The song is characterized by an unusual drum loop and distinctive bass. The song was released online, on CD and also on 7 "and 12" vinyl . Williams actually wrote the song for P. Diddy . However, he then decided to use it himself. So he recorded the title - while working on Stefani's album - in Miami. In order to create a kind of song to describe his lifestyle, Williams decided to use the baritone pitch . Normally sings countertenor in falsetten vocal range, which this piece apart from others. The action-packed video was directed by Paul Hunter .

That Girl: Williams is accompanied by Snoop Dogg on this piece , and Charlie Wilson also has a cameo . The video was made by Chris Robinson and there is also a censored version that cannot be shown in Germany until 10:00 p.m.

Angel: This is the second single from In My Mind that has been released in Europe but not in the US . It has been released on CD, DVD, vinyl and as a download. There are two videos for the song. One of them is a combination of animated film and material filmed in real life. Hype Williams has directed the second version .

Number One: The third single was used with synthesizers . Williams is supported here by Kanye West , on whose album ( Graduation ) he is also represented. In addition to the usual way, the single was also released on vinyl .

Can I Have It Like That (The Travis Barker Remix): The guitar-heavy remix by Travis Barker ( blink-182 ) only leaves vocals and bridge in the original version.
