Hype Williams

Harold "Hype" Williams (* 1970 in New York City ) is an American video and film director .

Life

Williams began his career as an art director . His first work was the design and the sets for the first music video from TLC , Is not 2 Proud 2 Beg in 1991. For the first time director, he led in the music video Can It All Be So Simple by Wu-Tang Clan in 1993. After this and following also very successful video projects, Williams became the highest paid and most sought-after video clip director in the late 1990s .

In 1998 Williams first directed the film Belly , in which well-known hip-hop greats such as DMX and Nas took over a role.
