Adam Lambert
Adam Mitchel Lambert (born January 29, 1982 in Indianapolis , Indiana ) is an American singer , songwriter and musical artist . In 2009, he finished second in season 8 of American Idol . So far he has sold over 5.4 million records.
Private life
Lambert was born in Indianapolis in 1982 to Leila and Eber Lambert and grew up in the Rancho Peñasquitos neighborhood of San Diego , California . He has a younger brother and attended high school. From November 2010 to April 2013 he was in a relationship with the Finnish reporter and reality TV star Sauli Koskinen.
Career
In 2003 Lambert lived in Berlin for about half a year and appeared there in the musical Hair . In 2004 he played Joshua in the musical The Ten Commandments alongside Val Kilmer in Los Angeles . He also toured Europe with the ensemble. In 2012 he won the “Music's Sexiest Man” poll on Billboard.com . 2013/2014 Adam Lambert was seen in the 5th season of the series Glee as Elliott Gilbert, in which he also sang several songs. In 2014, he had a guest appearance on the third season of the series Pretty Little Liars . In 2016 he played the role of Eddie in the remake musical The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let's Do the Time Warp Again .
In 2018 he made a guest appearance as a trucker and lover of Freddie Mercury in the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody .
American Idol
Lambert auditioned in San Francisco . Lambert was a jury favorite throughout the season and received good reviews. On May 19, 2009 he was defeated in the final by Kris Allen .

Cooperation with Queen
In 2012, two joint appearances at the Hammersmith Apollo were announced. Both shows were sold out within 24 hours. The other live appearances of “Queen + Adam Lambert” included open-air concerts in Kiev as part of the 2012 European Football Championship , in Moscow and Wroclaw, and three concerts in London . In 2014 Lambert was on tour with Queen in North America, Asia as well as Australia and New Zealand, in 2015 in Europe and South America, where Lambert's Ghost Town was performed live. In December 2014, Roger Taylor said at a press briefing: “We won't work with anyone else after working with the great Adam.” From June 2017 to July 2018, Queen and Lambert were on a worldwide tour again, from May to July 2020 further Europe-wide concerts planned, which were postponed to the year 2021 due to the corona pandemic .
