Lieder is the debut album by German pop singer Adel Tawil .

Creation and artwork

All songs on the album were written by Adel Tawil in cooperation with other musicians. Most of the compositions and productions worked on: Beatzarre , Tobias Kuhn , Konstantin Scherer and Adel Tawil. The album was released under the label Vertigo Berlin . The recordings of the entire album took place in the Hamburg recording studio Boogiepark Studios. The cover of the album is identical to that of the single songs of the same name , only that the colors have been changed in the background. The face of Adel Tawil can be seen on the cover of the album. The concept and photography are from Till Janz and Hendrik Schneider.

Publication and promotion

The album was first released on November 8, 2013 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland . The regular album version consists of 14 newly composed songs, the deluxe version consists of 18 newly composed songs and two remixes. From March 21, 2014 to September 19, 2015 Tawil played 62 concerts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as part of his Lieder tour .

background information

When songs are after a 17 years lasting career in music is the first solo album by Adel Tawil. In the past he has already released three albums with the boy group The Boyz and five albums with Annette Humpe as the pop duo Ich + Ich .

Track list

The album consists entirely of German-language songs. Only the song at home partly contains lines in English. These are sung by the US reggae musician Matisyahu .

Single releases

Two months before the album was released, the single Lieder was released in advance . A week before the album was released, the second single Aschenflug was released in cooperation with Prinz Pi and Sido . The third was the single crying on February 28, 2014. The fourth single followed on June 27, 2014 with the single Heimat , a collaboration with Matisyahu . The so far last single Kartenhaus was released on November 14th, 2014. All single releases could be placed in the charts in Germany. Four singles were placed in Switzerland and three songs in Austria.

Charts and chart placements

Lieder reached position four in the album charts in Germany and stayed in the top 10 for a total of 13 weeks and 70 weeks in the charts. In Austria, the album reached position six and stayed in the top 10 for six weeks and in the charts for 44 weeks. In Switzerland, the album reached position 17 in the charts in 33 weeks. Although the album did not make it to number one, it was still the most successful German-language album in the German album charts for a period of one week . Lieder placed 30th in the 2013 annual album charts in Germany. In the album annual charts of 2014, Lieder placed 19 in Germany, 29 in Austria and 80 in Switzerland. For Tawil this is the first chart success in the album charts.

In September 2017, Lieder was awarded five times gold in Germany for over 500,000 units sold. Across Europe, the album was awarded gold twice and platinum three times for over 525,000 units sold.
