Prison Break Anthem (I believe in you) is a song by the German rapper Azad , in cooperation with the German pop singer Adel Tawil . The piece is the first single from his fifth studio album Blockschrift .

Creation and artwork

The song was written jointly by Azad, Florian Fischer , M3 & Noyd and Adel Tawil. The single was produced by M3 & Noyd. The single was released under the Urban music label . The cover of the maxi single is black and white . You can see - in addition to the artist name and song title - a picture on which Azad and Tawil stand in front of or on a base of a power pole. The photographer for the cover shoot was Siro Micheroli, the artwork for the cover was done by Ben Baumgarten.

Publication and promotion

The first release of Prison Break Anthem (I believe in you) took place on July 13, 2007 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In addition to the radio version of Prison Break Anthem (I believe in you) , the maxi single also contains a "trailer version" and an instrumental of the song as a B-side .

background information

Prison Break Anthem (I believe in you) was the soundtrack for the US action series Prison Break and was created when RTL commissioned a German version of the theme song. The original theme song for the Prison Break Theme series was composed by the native German- Iranian Ramin Djawadi , who received an Emmy nomination for it . The Belgian singer Kaye Styles sang the rap song Prison Break Anthem at the request of the US television channel FOX , which also served as the theme song for the broadcast of the series on the Belgian television channel KanaalTwee. It was released as a single and as a music video . The song Pas le temps , rapped by rapper Faf Larage from Marseille , serves as the theme song , which was also released as a single and music video, especially for broadcast on the French television channel M6 . The Japanese singer Namie Amuro sang the theme song Top Secret for the Japanese broadcast.

For Tawil - at the time the singer of the German pop duo Ich + Ich - this is the second solo release apart from his projects like The Boyz or Ich + Ich after Nobody said .

Prison Break Anthem (I believe in you) reached number three in the single charts in Germany in the first week and rose to number one in the German single charts in the following weeks . The single was able to stay at the top for a week, 10 weeks in the top 10 and 18 weeks in the charts. In Austria the single reached position twelve in 17 chart weeks and in Switzerland position 13 in 15 chart weeks. The song was the most successful German-language song in the German single charts for a period of three weeks . In 2007 the single reached position 20 in the 2007 annual charts , position 57 in Austria and position 63 in Switzerland.

In Germany, this is already the twelfth chart success and the first top 10 / number one hit for Azad. For Adel Tawil, after Nobody Said, it is the second chart success as a solo artist and the first top 10 / number one hit success. In Austria and Switzerland it is the second chart success for Azad and the first for Tawil.

As an author, Prison Break Anthem (I believe in you) is already the twelfth single Tawils, which was able to place in the German single charts, in Austria it is the fourth and in Switzerland the fifth. It's his third top 10 and first number one win for him.
