Up to here and beyond is a song by German pop singer Adel Tawil , in cooperation with German rappers KC Rebell and Summer Cem . The piece is one of two singles released at the same time from his second studio album So beautifully different .
Creation and artwork
The song was written jointly by Yvan Jaquemet, Hüseyin Kökseçen ( KC Rebell ), Adel Tawil, Cem Toraman ( Summer Cem ), Marcel Uhde ( Juh-Dee ) and Mario Wesser. The single was mixed under the direction of Herbig and Salmy in the Hamburg Boogie Park Studios; together with Yvan Peacemaker they also produced the piece. The mastering was also done by Herbig and Salmy in the Boogie Park Studios, as well as by Sascha Bühren in the TrueBusyness Studios in Berlin . The single was released under the music label Polydor / Island and distributed by Edition Halal Money, Hanseatic Musikverlag , Song Legend Publishing and Adel Tawil Publishing.
In a webisode about Tawil, the producer Salmy described the collaboration with KC Rebell with the following words: The guy came and had no text. They turned on the playback in the loop and Rebell went from “A to B” and simply typed on his cell phone and rapped to himself. Rebel finished after 15 minutes, he went behind the microphone and they started recording.
On the cover of the digital single - in addition to the artist name and song title - Tawil can be seen against a black background. It shows him leaving the picture. In addition, the shadows of two other poses placed over Tawil can be seen. These are the cover pictures of two other singles that were released around the same time. One pose shows Tawil with his hand in front of his face (cover picture for the single God stand by me ) and another shows only the front of his upper body (cover picture for the single Is there someone ). On the cover of the physical maxi single, only the cover image of Is there someone can be seen.
Publication and promotion
The first release of Up to this point, and further carried out as a single download on March 18, 2017. Up to this point and beyond was the same with the single Is there someone who also appeared as a single download, published. Two weeks after the initial release, a physical maxi single was released . This was released as a 2-track single and includes the song Is there someone as a double A-side .
To promote the song, all three artists performed live together during prime time during the 2017 Echo Awards . Before the actual start of the song Tawil began without music in the background at the beginning of the chorus to God help me , in which he again gave the following lines in a sort of appeal: "I have the Bible not read've the Koran not at the same time, but when I see all of this, God help me. In one of his “webisodes” Tawil described the creation of Bis hier and even further as follows: He is always looking for something special, which is not always so easy in pop . To go new ways, so not always: "It has to be like that and there are some kind of pop rules". But that could also be related to private matters. He would find everything that is different initially interesting. He noticed that when he was a huge hip-hop fan he had pop in his blood at a young age . It already started that he was rapping, but always tried that the chorus - the hook - that they stand out well, that they are catchy and that people can sing along to them.
Especially about the collaboration with KC Rebell, he said: The number was there and they thought it would be somehow "cool" if someone could figure it out and that was KC after all. He is great. KC is simply a natural. He has a certain depth in his lyrics and an incredible rap presence. You don't even think how catchy and much nicer such a “pop song” sounds when it contains double “rhymes”.

In the same webisode, KC Rebell expressed himself with the following words: Mostly it is like that when you get songs from "Popartists" who forget that you are a rapper. The song should also "play" a little, but the song is "really cool". He knows Tawil's old songs. Tawil has always had a rapport. The things he did with Azad ( Prison Break Anthem (I believe in you) ) or with Sido and Prinz Pi ( Aschenflug ), KC follows that and thinks the mix of rap and Tawil fits very well. It is definitely a “killer thing” to be able to work with such a “great” artist like him. The lyrics to Bis hier und weiter is written in German. The text was written by Hüseyin Kökseçen ( KC Rebell ), Tawil, Cem Toraman ( Summer Cem ) and Mario Wesser; composed the music by Yvan Jaquemet, Tawil and Marcel Uhde ( Juh-Dee ). Musically, the song moves in the realm of rap and pop music . The instrumentalists are Juh-Dee (electric guitar, piano and synthesizer), Andreas Herbig (keyboard, drums and synthesizer), Jaquemet (bass, electric guitar, keyboard, percussion, piano, drums and synthesizer) and Patrick Salmy (keyboard, Drums and synthesizers). The song consists of three stanzas, each with a bridge and a refrain in between, as well as a new refrain at the end. The verses only consist of a rap part, which is interpreted as a whole by Summer Cem or KC Rebell. The bridge and the chorus are sung by Tawil. Universal Music itself described the song as a "courage-maker track". The song is based on the biographies Rebell and Tawils. They deal with the difficult beginnings in pop music, the first small successes, musical and personal low points, the later dream of success and that that was not everything up to this point, but that they want more and more would come. Of all the tracks on the new album, the song also best describes how Tawil felt after an accident in the summer of 2016. Tawil was seriously injured while jumping into a swimming pool while on vacation in Egypt and suffered a quadruple fracture of the atlas (first cervical vertebra).

Music video
The music video for Bis hier und noch weiter celebrated its premiere on March 17, 2017 on YouTube . The video begins with KC Rebel speeding through a desert landscape in a car. After a short while he drives past Tawil, who is on foot. In the following scenes the story accompanies Tawil. First he meets a woman in a yellow dress who is standing on a cliff. He runs through the desert and climbs a hill. There follows a scene in which Rebel meets Tawil again and throws him a drinking bottle from the car as he passes. On the further journey, three female motocross riders suddenly appear and circle Tawil. In the following section, Tawil is on his own again when Summer approaches Cem from behind in a beach car and picks him up. The video ends with a drive through the desert until Tawil gets off at his destination. In between, you can see impressions of nature, the woman in the yellow dress as well as KC Rebell and Tawil, who perform the song together during the sunset. The total length of the video is 3:47 minutes. Art Davis directed. The music video was produced by AVA Studios under the direction of Oliver Sommers. To date, the music video has over 23.7 million views on YouTube (as of September 2019).

Up to here and further on , it reached position 23 in the single charts in Germany and stayed in the charts for a total of twelve weeks. In Austria the single reached position 72 in two chart weeks and in Switzerland position 97 in one chart week.
For Tawil as an interpreter, this is his 14th chart success in Germany, as well as his eleventh in Switzerland and his ninth in Austria. As an author, Bis hier und weiter is already his 29th chart success in Germany, as well as his 14th chart success in Austria and Switzerland. For the ninth time, a single Tawils was placed in all DA-CH countries at the same time .
For KC Rebell as author and performer this is already the 23rd chart success in Germany, as well as his eighth in Switzerland and his seventh in Austria. For the seventh time, a single KC Rebells was placed in all DA-CH countries at the same time. For Summer Cem as an author and performer, this is already the ninth chart success in Germany, and after Mafia Music, his second in Austria and his first chart success in the Swiss single charts.
