Kartenhaus is a song by the German pop singer Adel Tawil . The piece is the fifth single from his debut album Lieder .
Creation and artwork
The song was written by Robin Grubert , Adel Tawil , Simon Triebel and Ali Zuckowski . The single was produced by Robin Grubert and Adel Tawil. The song was released under the music label Vertigo Records . The recordings took place in the Hamburg Boogiepark Studios. On the cover of the maxi single - in addition to the artist name and song title - a large house of cards can be seen against a black background.
Publication and promotion
The house of cards was first published on November 14, 2014 as a single download. A physical sound carrier was released on December 12, 2014 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland . In addition to the radio version by Kartenhaus, the maxi single contains three further remix versions of the piece, including one by Pelham & Haas ( Moses Pelham and Martin Haas).
In order to promote the song, there were live appearances on the ZDF morning magazine , on the RTL breakfast TV station Guten Morgen Deutschland and during the TV magazine Café Puls from Puls 4 (Austria).

Music video
The music video for House of Cards was filmed in Los Angeles and premiered on November 7, 2014 on the Universal Music Group website. In the video, Tawil is supported by the German actor Thomas Kretschmann and the British-Italian actress Katy Saunders . You can see a man (played by Kretschmann) who is constantly fantasizing about a woman (played by Saunders) in his home. He sees her reflected in window panes and the surface of water and imagines that she even touches him. In the middle of the video, he even jumps into a pool because he sees them seemingly floating on the surface of the water. The video ends with the man walking lonely on a beach towards a sea. In between, Tawil can always be seen singing the song on this beach. The total length of the video is 4:16 minutes. As with the three previous singles, Kim Frank again directed.
