Arezu Weitholz (* 1968 ) is a German journalist and author.

biography

Arezu Weitholz grew up in a village in Lower Saxony. After graduating from high school, Weitholz trained as a bank clerk and then studied economics in Hanover for a few semesters.

In the early 1990s she started working as a journalist for the Hamburg magazine Max . From 1996 she lived in South Africa for a year and worked there as a disc jockey. In 1997 she moved to Munich and was initially an editor at SZ-Magazin and then at Spiegel Spezial . Living in London, she wrote various publications for the Süddeutsche Zeitung , the Stern , Allegra , Gentlemen's Quarterly and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung from 2000 .

During an interview, she met Herbert Grönemeyer , who consulted her as an editor for his texts. Arezu Weitholz edited the lyrics for the album Mensch and advised Grönemeyer on the dramaturgy. Since then she has been working with him as a co-author and text dramaturge. She was co-author of Herbert Grönemeyer's play Leonce and Lena , the songs Come to Ruhr , Spur , Let's Don't Rain and Dew . Weitholz also works for Udo Lindenberg , Adel Tawil , Madsen , 2raumwohnung and Die Toten Hosen . With Was hat die Zeit done with us from the album Stark wie Zwei by Udo Lindenberg, with Ich bin die Sehnsucht in dir from the album Back to happiness and drowning from the album In aller Stille by Die Toten Hosen and with Mein Herz stays here from the album Labyrinth from Madsen and lighthouses , as well as from Keiner and Bumm! Boom! Boom! She was co-author of the album Lichtjahre , and again she is the sole author of Baut . With Adel Tawil she wrote the titles Paradies and Immer da for his album Lieder . With 2raumwohnung she wrote the songs With You I'm Beautiful and Wonderful Days from the album Attention . Weitholz 'poem Der Kochfisch was also set to music by the Austrian singer Valérie Sajdik and appeared on her album Ich bin Du bist .

The first volume with collected fish poems by Arezu Weitholz was published in March 2010. The book, with the author's own illustrations, went into its second edition in the middle of the year. Weitholz 'poetry is compared with that of Joachim Ringelnatz and Robert Gernhardt . A second volume of poetry Merry Fishmas - 44 fish poems for the festival was published in October 2010, the third A fish will come - small fish studies with poems in June 2013. Her first novel with the title When the Night is Quiet was published in September 2012. In 2013 two of her poems appeared in the anthology Gefischtes , which was published together with the Friends and Patrons of the Detlefsen Museum , with Catharina Berents. In 2016 Weitholz illustrated the cover for the book Where Love Goes by Maria Rossbauer and Johannes Gernert. A complete edition of the best fish poems The fish is a poem was published in July 2017.
