The publisher Antje Kunstmann is a by Antje Kunstmann guided independent book publisher from Munich . Founded in 1990, it emerged from the Frauenbuchverlag / Weismann Verlag. With currently (2020) twelve employees, 30 to 35 books are published annually and sales of 4 to 5 million euros are achieved. The program includes titles by German and international authors in the areas of fiction , non-fiction , audio books and gift books . The publisher publishes, among others, the novels of the Spanish author Rafael Chirbes , Tim Parks , Valeria Luiselli , Gilles Kepel and Barbara Gowdy .

The publisher became known through Axel Hackes bestseller Der kleine Erziehungsberater , of which over a million copies have been sold since it appeared.

The publishing house was awarded the 1992 Schwabing Art Prize and in 2011 with the viruses spin Prize awarded.
