Traum is a song by the German rapper and singer Cro . The song is the first single from his second studio album Melodie . It was released on May 9, 2014 and reached the top of the charts in Germany , Austria and Switzerland .

The song is written from the perspective of a lyric self who is looking for his dream woman. The text is addressed directly to this woman. Cro raps that he has already packed everything to go on vacation with his great love. But he doesn't even know whether this woman really exists and asks her to contact him before his loneliness becomes too great. In his search for her, he has already met many women, none of whom were true love, which is why he was almost desperate. As long as he cannot find his dream woman, he hopes to dream as much of her as possible in his sleep.

The video for Traum was shot by Lars Timmermann and published on June 5, 2014.
It shows a fictional television show called “Date Duell”, which is moderated by Frank Elstner . Cro performs as a live musical act on this show. Both male candidates on the show, played by François Goeske in a double role, have to try to win over the same woman on different dates. Cro takes on a supporting role on the dates and is the gardener in the park, the butler in the villa and the referee at tennis. The two men disturb each other's dates, whereby the woman secretly seems to be into Cro and is less interested in her two suitors. The men's argument finally escalates and they lay the entire television studio in ruins, with Cro being struck by a falling lamp and passed out. He dreams of how he gets together with the woman before he is woken up by Frank Elstner.
Chart successes
The single entered the German single charts at number one in the 22nd calendar week of 2014 and topped the list for four weeks. In total, the song stayed in the top 10 for eleven weeks and in the charts for 47 weeks. The single reached the top position in the German airplay charts for six weeks , longer than any other single in the 2014 calendar year. The song also reached the top of the charts in Austria and Switzerland and stayed there for four and three weeks respectively.
