success

Märtyrer entered the German album charts at number 1 . After Aura and Split Personality, this is the rapper's third album in a row that was able to occupy the highest position.

The title song Märtyrer reached number 51 in the German single charts. Position 61 could be occupied with the piece limit .

On June 23, 2015, Kool Savas published "Martyrs" had sold 100,324 copies. This makes "Märtyrer", after "Aura", Sava's second solo album with gold status.

criticism

The e-zine Laut.de rated martyrs with four out of a possible five points. According to the editor Dani Fromm, the album turns out to be "a firework of battle lyric". However, with “images, words, rhythms and his truly special voice”, Savas could not “completely hide the one major weak point” that martyrs “did not have too much to offer” in terms of content. Fromm also rates Tim Bendzko's contribution negatively. This is the " Matthias Schweighöfer of the German music landscape", whose "omnipresence [...] is slowly taking on annoying proportions". Alex Prince's “pecky, garish, completely soulless vocals” on the song Limit also received negative criticism from Laut.de. Musically, the productions on the album paint “a successful and, above all, varied picture”.

Leaderboard

In the list of the best “Hip Hop Albums of the Year” 2014 by Laut.de, Märtyrer was placed 23rd. From the editors' point of view, Savas should "like to call himself a little" "King of Rap" "in view of this biting, but pleasantly relaxed demonstration of technical sophistication".
