On laut.de , Johannes Jimeno awarded three out of a possible five points. He criticizes the sometimes poor productions and the many singing hooks , especially by Karen Firlej. In contrast, the songs Surrender , Essah, Essah , rappers like you and Sneakers & Heels would convince. The experimental country pop song Candyman was also a success.

From rap.de got Essahdamus a positive rating. Reviewer Gilbert Nagel praised both the production and the consistently well-chosen feature guests. Savas skillfully exploits his rap technical strengths on the mixtape, whereby "neither thematic nor sound technical limitations" are made.

The website rappers.in gave the mixtape 4.5 out of a possible 6 points. The author Max thinks that "" Essahdamus "is a good and sometimes excellent mixtape". It is "better than the John Bello story parts and will probably enjoy the status of his best mixtape of the last ten years in the long term". Kool Savas skilfully exploits the freedom of a mixtape to try out new things and experiment, and most of them succeed.

MZEE.com magazine rated Essahdamus as mixed. The editor Sven Aumiller thinks that Savas' mixtape "compared to records like his debut album, which has evidently shaped the German rap landscape, [...] is almost a bit out of date." However, the publication should still be given a chance.
