Cr7z (born March 7, 1984 ; real name Christoph Hess ) is a German rapper from Sangerhausen .

Career

Christoph Hess grew up in Sangerhausen . Even at an early age he processed his great creativity with drawing and painting pictures. In addition to trance music, he was also taken with hip-hop , which he first came into contact with when he was 14 on vacation when a friend made him aware of the Wu Tang clan . His aroused interest led to the fact that a short time later he tried to write and rap in German himself.

He continued to deal with German hip-hop and, inspired by Freundeskreis and the Absolute Beginners , there were first appearances in and outside of his hometown. In Munich he met the rapper and DJ Junior from Feinkost Paranoia , through whom he came to professional recording opportunities. As Chriz MC , he published individual songs on MySpace , Soundcloud and YouTube . Despite alcohol and drug problems, his first album, Pein, was released in 2008 and could only be purchased digitally. In 2010 the label 58Muzik became aware of the rapper Absztrakkt . After changing his name to Cr7z, he signed a contract offer there. His first release was followed by four more albums, some solo releases, some collaborations.

In 2015, the collaboration album Waage & Fisch was published in collaboration with Absztrakkt. It reached number 52 in the charts, making it Cr7z's greatest success to date. Videos were shot for The Only One and Anahata . Just two months later, Cr7z's second solo album, Sieben Weltmeere, was released, which was charted. In addition, he has published more than 300 free tracks on YouTube in recent years.

On the album MannHeim der Söhne Mannheims from 2017, Cr7z can be heard with two guest contributions on the songs Marionetten and Der deutsche Michel .

On December 15, 2017, Cr7z released his third solo album ULT7MA , which was charted in Germany and Switzerland. The album was the first to be released through his own music label Arjuna . Kool Savas worked on the album as a co-producer and supported his friend with advertising on social networks . In the course of the work on the new album, music videos were created for the songs "ULT7MA", "I just wanted to let you know" and "D-Generation", all of which were published on Kool Savas' YouTube channel . At the beginning of 2018, the rapper went on tour in Germany with his album.

In spring 2018 Cr7z announced the Newline EP , which was released on June 15, 2018 in cooperation with Snowgoons .

Cr7z is involved, among other things, in the "youth work", for example he accompanied the rapper and actor Damion Davis at a rap workshop in a youth center in Saarbrücken .

In 2019 he made a guest appearance as a drug dealer in the streaming series Patchwork Gangsta produced by the SWR for the funk media service .

With the release of the track Ewigkeit , he announced his fourth album, Gaia, for March 25, 2020.

Music label Arjuna

The label Arjuna was founded on May 1st, 2017 by Cr7z and DJ Eule . At the time of the founding, he and DJ Eule published their productions under this label. According to their own statements, Mattick and Hess would like to focus on their art with their work under Arjuna, but they still maintain good contacts with their old colleagues.

Cr7z has been living in Rosenheim in Bavaria for some time , which is also often addressed in his texts.

Others

In addition to his drug past, Hess struggles with severe alcohol problems, which he has under control during recordings and performances.

Commenting on Cr7z in 2013, Kool Savas said:
