Heinrich Klostermann

Heinrich August Klostermann (born August 12, 1868 in Bochum ; † February 11, 1953 in Menden ) was a German engineer and manager of the coal and steel industry.

Life

The son of the Bochum Secret Sanitary Councilor Heinrich Klostermann and nephew of the mining lawyer Rudolf Klostermann studied engineering at the Technical University of Karlsruhe and the Bergakademie Berlin after attending grammar school in Bochum . In Karlsruhe he became a member of the Corps Alemannia . After completing his studies, he was an engineer for combustion systems at the Hörder Bergwerks- und Hütten-Verein in Hörde from 1892 to 1893 , from 1893 to 1894 as an engineer for fine coal and dust combustion in Düsseldorf and from 1894 to 1898 as a steelworks engineer at the Westphalian steelworks in Bochum. In 1898 he switched to the steel and rolling mill Carl Stein in Wehbach , where he built a new steel mill and became its boss. He later became operations director of the entire plant and finally a member of the board and technical director of the parent company Bergbau- und Hütten-AG Friedrichshütte .

Klostermann was a member of the district council and the district committee of the Altenkirchen district .
