Laas Unltd. (Born December 25, 1981 in Gütersloh ; bourgeois Lars Daniel Hammerstein ) is a German rapper from Hamburg , who has lived in Berlin since 2011 .

biography

At the age of 15, Laas Unltd., At that time still Laas MC, went to hip-hop jams in Germany to meet like-minded people there and to exchange ideas with them. It was through his raps that the rapper Rasputin , who at the time formed the Flara group together with the Bielefeld producer Flaps , came across Laas. A short time later, Flaps produced the EP. Some tell me to do a tape . Together with DJ Amir, Spontan, SD and Rano, Laas later founded the Stammtisch formation . However, apart from the beats from the Bude tapes and a producer album by DJ Amir, this never released a joint album. The rap crew split up soon after. After that, Laas moved back to his hometown Hamburg in 2003, where he began training alongside his activity as a rapper . In Hamburg, Laas became a member of the Aburz City production team . In 2006 they produced the Laas collaboration album Meisterwerk , on which ex-Stammtisch member Rano could also be heard.

In 2007 Laas' debut album Laas Unltd was released. Begins! through the record label No Image Records . Shortly before this release, Laas Unltd. the mixtape The Prequel , consisting of freestyles and old songs, is available for free download . Meanwhile, Laas Unltd. his training to become an educator . In 2009 the continuation of the first album appeared under the title 2.0 Action Rap . On November 12, 2010, Laas Unltd. the solo album Backpack Inferno . In the run-up to the release, videos for the two songs GZSZ and the online single Backpack Inferno were released . On the album, the hip-hop musicians Sido , Kool Savas , Harris , Kaas , Rawbird, CroniK and Coscash are represented with guest contributions .

At the end of November 2010, Laas Unltd. involved in a dispute with Kollegah (Felix Blume). After a negative mention in an interview with Kollegah, Laas Unltd. a video in which he challenged Kollegah to a rap battle . Thereupon Kollegah published the song Who is this Laas? In which he can not be heard himself, but the rapper Headtrick, who imitates Kollegah's voice and style. Laas Unltd. replied with the song Fick dich Felix and released a T-shirt with this inscription. As a result, Kollegah released a t-shirt for women that read "Fick mich Felix".

On August 26, 2011, Laas Unltd. his new solo album Blackbook , which entered the German Media Control album charts at number 37 in the first week after its release. His next solo album Im Herzen Kind , which was released on October 26, 2012, was only able to reach 93rd place on the Media Control album charts.

On October 16, 2013, he competed in the Battlemania Champions League of the Battlerap event Rap on Wednesday against Drob Dynamic. The two rapped three rounds a cappella against each other. A three-person jury decided the battle 3-0 for Laas. For his appearance he received positive reactions from several sides within the German rapeseed scene. Laas Unltd. then released the album Blackbook II on March 14, 2014 , with which he reached number 41 in the German album charts.

On January 15, 2016, his seventh album, Daemon , was released, which at number 32 marked its highest entry into the German album charts.

From May 2017 to spring 2018 Laas Unltd. under contract with the music label ersguterjunge . He has been working with Shindy on his label Friends with Money since 2019 . His eighth solo album entitled LAAS MAN STANDING will be released as a digital release on August 21, 2020 .

Stage name

At the beginning of his career, Laas performed under the name Laas MC . At the age of 19 he changed his stage name to Laas Minute . Later he took the name Laas Unltd. because he is of the opinion that he does not have to concentrate on a specific area and that it is therefore unlimited . He also appears with numerous pseudonyms such as Fat Lace , Sex Lace , Laasen , Lace Against The Machine , Jackenmann , Veggie Noble or DBU . During his EGJ phase he was often referred to as Laas Abi .
