Kaas (spelling: KAAS ; born August 13, 1982 in Kattowitz , Poland ; bourgeois Lukas Michalczyk ) is a German- Polish rapper from Reutlingen who was under contract with the Optik Records label and after its closure publishes his albums via Chimperator Productions . He is also known as a member of The Orsons and Bassquiat groups .

Career

Kaas was born in Poland. He started making rap music at the age of 14. At the age of 19 he founded the group Bassquiat with Sucuk Ufuk and Tua , with whom he released the album BQ 4 life in 2007. For joint titles the trio was able to win the Berlin Kool Savas and Samy Deluxe . By founding Bassquiat, Kaas got to know the employees of the Optik Records label , with whom he finally received a contract.

Kaas also forms The Orsons together with hip-hop musicians Tua, Maeckes and Plan B. From May 2nd to June 6th, 2008 he was on a Fast Like Las Vegas tour with the group and rappers Casper , Pimpulsiv and Vega . On July 25, 2008, the first album by The Orsons was released under the title The Album .

After Kool Savas announced the dissolution of the Optik Records label for 2009 on July 31, 2008 , Kaas was signed to the Stuttgart label Chimperator Productions . The head of the label, already the rapper to the previously Maeckes & Plan B had contracted, citing as justification for selection of the musician that this " a [ r ] the talentiertesten and fokussiertesten Artist " of German hip-hop was.

In the following time Kaas appeared mainly through guest posts on albums of befriended rappers. He appears on the album Gorilla by Kodimey and John Bello Story 2 by Kool Savas in appearance. The songs The Proof 2 Mammut Remix and Brainwash of John Bello Story 2 were implemented as a video with Kaas. On December 12th, 2008 Kaas released the EP Der Garten der Liebe for free on the Internet. The 14 tracks on the EP were produced by Christyle and Tua, among others. In early 2009 he accompanied Savas, Franky Kubrick , Ercandize , Caput , Amar and Moe Mitchell on the Optik Records farewell tour .

From March 28 to May 2, 2009, the rapper completed a tour under the title : D Tour 2009 .

Controversy over amok payday

The release of Kaas' first album had to be postponed several times. It was originally supposed to appear on March 13, 2009 under the title Amokzahltag: D , which failed due to a production error. The first edition was therefore crushed and the publication date was postponed to March 20, 2009. With Amok Payday , the theme song in which Kaas describes a rampage from the perpetrator's point of view was implemented as a video. The video sparked controversy after 16 people were killed in the Winnenden rampage on March 11, 2009. Amok Payday was widely received in the media, including the talk show Hart but fair . Due to the events in Winnenden , Chimperator Productions initially decided not to release the album. On May 22, 2009, Kaas' album was finally released with a slightly changed track list on the Stuttgart label. The title of the album was also renamed The Album formerly known as Amokzahltag: D and the cover of the new edition by Kaas was manually re-labeled. In a further edition, which was pressed after the first 3,000 copies had been sold, the new title and the list of titles were printed. The album made it to number 100 on the album charts.
